Expert Tutor for the BC Bar Exams

Rhona Lichtenwald instructed the Law Society of BC's Professional Legal Training Course (PLTC) for 10 years and provides tutoring services for the BC Bar exams for current and remedial students.

PLTC support – tips on organization and preparation. 

BC Bar Examination Tutoring – BC Bar Solicitor and Barrister Exams - PLTC is a demanding and intensive course. Some students find tutoring can help. Rhona tutors any of the PLTC practice materials: Business (Corporate & Commercial), Real Estate, Wills, Civil Practice, Creditor's Remedies, Criminal Practice, Family Practice, Practice Management and Professional Ethics. 

PLTC Assessments**- Please note that due to Law Society of BC integrity policies, Rhona is limited in tutoring for failed assessments and therefore she cannot discuss the fact patterns from the assessments.  Rhona may review students' in-class assignments for additional feedback, provide one on one tutoring of the assessment requirements and may provide feedback on oral assessments using class assignments. 

Rhona provides Reinstatement Exam preparation and exam taking tutoring for lawyers who have left the practice of law for a period of time and are required to write exams to return to law practice in BC. 

If you are a lawyer licensed to practice in a province in Canada outside of BC, you may be required to take Transfer Exams.  Rhona provides support and tutoring for these exams. 

All sessions are online via Zoom. Rhona teaches effective study skills and time management techniques to help students achieve success. For Bar Exam preparation, Rhona has a one hour session where she assists students in analyzing where they went wrong in previous exams (if they have failed a Bar Exam) and then provides her method of preparing and studying for the Exams and tips on how to effectively write the exams, working with each student's needs. After the first session, Rhona tutors any of the subject areas that are examined. Each tutoring session is one hour per subject area. 

All sessions are held online.  The sessions are scheduled between 9 and 5pm at a mutually convenient time.  If you are working full time, Rhona tries to work with your schedule and can book over a lunch break or later in the day.  There are no evening or weekend sessions. 

Rhona emails an invoice after each session.  The invoice is payable immediately via e-transfer. Credit cards are accepted with a 4% fee added to the invoice amount. Rhona charges by the hour and will discuss her rates with you via email or telephone.
